The University of Warwick has been selected as our Pot Noodle Society of the Month for June for acquiring some impressive sponsorship deals, hosting their second Riot Play Club and other events!
We spoke to their Vice-President, Lizzie, to find out more...

Massive congrats on winning Pot Noodle Society of the Month! Could you tell us about your newly acquired sponsors and what they'll bring to Warwick Esports?
We’re incredibly fortunate to be partnered with Fnatic, Red Bull, and Razer. Fnatic is one of Europe’s most iconic organisations and arguably the best in the UK. Their competitive teams span across the biggest titles, and they're deeply respected in our community. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to create spaces for members to connect with industry professionals, enjoy watch parties, and host Fnatic-themed social nights. Red Bull, one of the world’s most recognised energy drink brands, powers our events—literally. Their support keeps the community energised during long tournaments and LANs (gamers and caffeine, right?). Lastly, Razer, one of the best peripheral brands globally, helps us give back to our members through hardware support and themed prizing. Their contribution has made our tournaments and giveaways more exciting than ever.

That sounds incredible! I'm sure other societies would love to know more, so tell me, how were you able to secure these partnerships?
I’ve had a few people ask about this, so I’m glad you brought it up! The first step is research - figure out which brands align with your society’s goals and what would benefit your community the most. I knew I wanted peripheral support (Razer), a strong UK-based org to grow with (Fnatic), and a lifestyle brand to fuel our events (Red Bull). From there, I created a detailed sponsorship proposal showcasing Warwick Esports; our socials, facilities, accomplishments, and vision. The goal is to make brands want to work with you and see you as a worthwhile investment. After that came the grind: countless hours on LinkedIn finding the right outreach roles, sending proposals, and following up. A lot of it was just me sat in coffee shops trying to get this amazing society the support it deserves.

Thank you! On the other hand we'd also like to know, how was your second Riot Play Club, and what other events stood out this month?
Our second Riot Play Club was a huge success, loved by our community and visitors alike! We had themed tournaments, quizzes, mini-games, and free-to-play PC setups. We even celebrated VALORANT’s 5th birthday with a party and piñata - it was chaotic and perfect. Shoutout to our social team for hosting some incredible summer socials for our on-site community: BBQs, field drinks, campus bingo, and quizzes. Looking ahead, we’re excited for our Overwatch tournament with Manchester, given our strong OW community, it’s bound to be great. And throughout summer, we’ve got a packed schedule with tournaments, watch parties, and socials across multiple titles.

Have you got any big plans or events coming up?
Our summer schedule is stacked with community events and tournaments. As for the really big plans, we’re not quite ready to announce those just yet! But next year, we’re hoping to continue our work with Riot, act as a Midlands hub for Fnatic, and keep building Warwick Esports’ national presence. There are a few exciting things in the works…but you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear about them!

Due to all of this and your performance in NSE you are known as the UK Esports Societies powerhouse, what advice would you give to smaller societies looking to grow?
Collaborate! Reach out to other societies, especially more established ones, and host joint events. In esports, we all have similar goals - grow communities, win games, and have fun - so it just makes sense to team up. Also, run as many events as possible, both online and offline. It keeps your members engaged and helps build consistency. Finally, focusing on inclusivity, creating a welcoming, open environment is one of the best ways to boost interest and keep people coming back.

Last but not least, as Pot Noodle Society of the Month tradition dictates we have a very special question for you: What would your ideal date night featuring a Pot Noodle meal be?
Pot Noodle with my cat. But in all seriousness, probably a Pot Noodle dinner on a balcony in Greece. During summer obviously ;)
