All games are now finished and the points have been totalled. A record number of 117 universities entered the battle to be crowned Esports University of the Year but only one can claim the crown.
For the seventh year in a row, the University of Warwick is the Esports University of the Year for 2024/2025!
The University of Warwick has finished in first place with a whopping total of 3372 points. Whilst obviously impressive, the points difference between first and second place this year decreased by almost 400 points - a glimmer of hope for other top-tier universities.
Top 10 Summary
The University of Warwick tops the table, followed by the University of Portsmouth in second, Swansea University in third, the University of Southampton coming in fourth and the University of The West of England finishing fifth.
The University of Warwick retains its seat at the top of the leaderboard after a fantastic performance across a variety of titles in both the Winter and Spring seasons.
The University of Portsmouth has claimed its first-ever silver medal podium finish after placing third last year, knocking former runner-up Swansea University down into third position. Do I sense a rivalry brewing?
Swansea University has put in another fantastic performance this year, coming in third place after having a very successful Spring season, proving their dominance as the best in Wales.
The University of Southampton finishes in fourth place, consistent with last year's standings. Being only 20 points off beating third place, perhaps next year we will see them return to the top 3.
After making it into the top 10 last year, the University of The West of England has set a new PB as they make their debut in the top 5, congrats to them!
The University of Nottingham has inched one step closer to the top 5 than last year, finishing sixth overall.
Cardiff University has also set a record. Finishing seventh, not only have they made the top 10 for the first time, but are now the second ever non-English university to do so in NSE history!
They are followed by the University of Manchester, which has risen almost ten places since last year, going from 17th to 8th and entering the top 10 for the first time since 2019, has !uomtrailer made the difference?
In ninth and tenth, both finishing in the top 10 for another year, we find the University of Exeter and King's College London respectively.
